The Coromandel Peninsula
Extending 85 kilometres in length and forming a natural barrier protecting the Hauraki Gulf from the Pacific Ocean the Coromandel Peninsula is a rugged, steep strip of largely bush covered land which has become a mecca for holiday-makers from all over the North Island. Often visible from Auckland its beautiful beaches, and bush covered hills provide a playground for those who enjoy the outdoors. I have attempted through my photographs to demonstrate the variety of landscapes and colours which make up this remarkable environment.
